Can Silicone Spray Be Used On PolyHyde Vinyl Found On Thomas Payne Furniture
Updated 01/29/2021 | Published 01/27/2021 >
Question:
Hello, Our Thomas Payne theater seats squeak when reclining. It is the polyhyde surfaces rubbing on each other causing the noise. Can I use silicone spray or some other slippery substance to quiet the noise with out damaging the covering? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Lippert does not recommend using chemicals of any kind to be used on the PolyHyde vinyl used on their Theater seating like the TP27FR as it can damage the polymer coating.
Instead I recommend using warm water to clean the theater seat thoroughly, including in the seams between the two pieces that are squeaking as the polymer coating is naturally slick and offers quiet operation.
