You can use an in line fuse instead of a circuit breaker for the hot lead on a 7-Way. However, the circuit breaker will automatically reset whereas a fuse would need to be replaced if it overloads. If you do use a fuse then make sure it is rated at 40 amps. If you do decide to go with a circuit breaker use # PK54540.
