Question:

I own a grand design 2021 260rd fifth wheel. Which kit can I use to soften the ride and how much preload is needed? My springs are over the axle.

SuperSprings recommends the # TSS-107-40, which is designed for 3000-5000 lb capacity axles. Once installed, the springs would sit so the top is 6-1/2 inches above the top of the spring pack. Two 1/2 inch thick spacers are included, so if one spacer was added, it would sit 7 inches above the spring pack and 7-1/2 inches if both spacers are used. Ideally, you'd want to see about 1/2 inch of preload.

To determine if the # TSS-107-40 would work, with the trailer on the ground as you'd typically have it loaded, measure the vertical distance between the top of the spring pack and the underside of the trailer spring member.
