Question:
I am trying to lower my 5th wheel hitch as my trailer nose is quite high and not near level. I have a 2015 ford f250 4x4 super duty shortbed with factory hitch prep kit with a center ball and four pucks.. I understand its actually a Reese gooseneck/5th wheel setup. I have an older Reese 3004 30047 ? 16k hitch, a square rail slider and am using a 30156 Reese adapter window frame. My leg height is about 13.5 inches from bed and the leg height without the window frame is about 9.5 inches. I have plenty of cab and rear corner bed box clearance and never use the slider, so I was thinking of eliminating the slider. Am I correct that Reese does not make a pair of legs that fit and lock directly into the pucks and eliminate the window frame? Does anybody? I guess part rp30727 will give me one less inch at about 8 1/4 height and one more inch as I will be able to use the top adjusting holes that I cant now. Sorry so lengthy but thought you may have some ideas. Thankyou

Going from a slider base to a fixed leg base for your fifth wheel hitch won't give you a noticeable reduction in height to the point your trailer would no longer be quite nose high. Also there isn't a way to convert your current hitch to fit to the OEM rail kit directly to reduce height either.
A hitch solution that would sit lower is the Curt A25 part # C16036 which has an adjustable height of 13-17 inches and has a really great jaw design.
