Can Yakima OnRamp E-Bike Rack Tilt Forward for Rear Hatch Access
Updated 08/31/2020 | Published 08/27/2020 >
Question:
The video indicates there is not a tilt stop but there are two pictures that show the rack partially tilted. I cant imagine they would leave that off a premium rack like this. Perhaps the gentleman in the video didnt realize there was stop or how to engage it? Also, I have a 2inch hitch. Are there any other differences between this one Y36FR and the 1 1/4inch Y96FR? Trying to make my final decision before ordering. Thanks.

Yes the Yakima OnRamp part # Y36FR does tilt down to help with rear cargo area access like you can see in the attached picture you mentioned. The only functional difference between this rack and the # Y96FR is the hitch it is designed to fit like you noticed. # Y96FR fits 1-1/4 inch hitch and # Y36FR fits 2 inch hitch.
This rack somehow was able to combine all of the features people want from e-bike racks while also remaining lightweight at 39 lbs which is a big feat. Most likely the reviewer was more fixated on the fold out ramp feature and the frame clamps since that's what most people with e-bikes are interested in.
