The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # 90195 will connect to your 2016 Toyota Tundra using the Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Dual Plug In # 3031-P. It will not change the way the ECU sees your trailer at all. The controller will see the trailer as connected when there is a slight power draw on the trailer brake output pin in the 5 o'clock location of your factory 7-way trailer connector.
