Question:

Does the “primed finish” mean it is ready for paint? If not, can it be painted? There is a price difference between the red and black one. I will just paint the red if that’s possible.

Yes, the primed finish means you can paint over the red Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler with Jack Hole # DM14793-97.

This coupler, as well as the black # DM14793-81 are A-frame couplers with a 10,000 lb capacity and attach to a 2" hitch ball. If you need a lock as well the best option is the etrailer Adjustable Trailer Coupler Latch Lock # e98883.
