Marine stereos such as the Polk Heavy Duty Mechless Ultramarine Stereo part # PA4A are typically single zone units. Therefore, you would not be able to wire up speakers into different groups and select which of these play at a given time. The only way to obtain multiple zones would be with standard automotive stereos such as one of the ones listed in the link below.

I don't think any allow you adjust the volume for one zone while playing multiple though.
