Steering Stabilizer for 1996 Winnebago on P30 Chevy Chassis

Updated 06/30/2020 | Published 06/29/2020

Question:

Hello. I have a 1996 Winnebago on a Chevy Chasis. I believe its a P30 Chasis. Im looking into getting a steering stabilizer to help in the handling of the vehicle particularly part number RM-RBK3-RSSP30. I have a couple of question that I hope you can help answer for me. 1. This part comes with one set of shock and spring on it. For a complete setup, do I only need one of these or do I need to buy a pair of these? 2. Is this meant to replace the OEM steering dampener or is it meant to work in conjuction with the OEM steering dampener. From looking under the car, I believe I have an OEM set of two shocks. I have attached the picture detailing what I see. Please let me know if this OEM piece must be removed in order to use the Roadmaster stabilizer. If I need to remove, do i remove both shock or just one? 3. If this is meant to replace the OEM set in the picture, do I need to buy a new mount or can I use the existing mount? Thank you

Expert Reply:

The correct steering stabilizer for your 1996 built on a Chevy P30 chassis is the part # RM-RBK3-RSSP30 and this does replace the current stabilizer you have now. You only need one of these though even though your current setup uses two shocks.
