Question:
I recently got a 19foot boat that weighs about 2500lbs in totalboat, motor and trailer As far as I know my Jeep does not have a towing package. When towing the boat the temperature gauge indicates its overheating when I go faster then 65mph and continually registered in the higher level below 65. I have stopped and checked for overheating in the engine compartment but no sign of it. Oil temp is normal as is the transmission temp. Would an engine oil cooler and/or transmission cooler help or is this a problem with the cars system?

Your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee V6, the towing capacity is greater than that, however you still need to use caution. Your owners manual suggests not using ACC at all during towing. It also states that you should follow the gauges which may be more sensitive to heat when towing to remain safe. It could be that your thermostat is misreading, but it is very likely you need to add a cooling system which is normally included with a towing package. Adding coolers will only help your vehicle to function more efficiently.
I normally recommend adding the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler for GM Applications # D15903 but your cartridge oil filter won't work with it directly. You can run the wires still and use this or you can just use a transmission cooler like # D13502. I also recommend following the Manufacturer recommendations outlined in your owner's manual.
