Question:

I have a 2019 Chevy Sonic hatchback and a 2015 Thor ace motorhome. I would like to use an ebike rack on both vehicles. I have two ebike. The sonic is a tow vehicle as well. Will the tongue on the ace support My blue ox tow system and the new bike rack using a duel 2” adapter. I have a bumper on the ace and I see bumper type bike racks mounted by screw clamps. I want to be able to have bikes on the Rv and use the same bike rack on the sonic to get to bike trails. I know Rv racks must be heavy duty and many are not recommended for Rv use. Let me know the best way to proceed. I can send pictures if needed. Thank you,

The perfect bike rack to use with electric bikes on a motorhome and also the back of a vehicle while not in tow mode is the Thule EasyFold XT 2 E-Bike Platform Rack part # TH903202. The EasyFold has both a 1-1/4" shank for use on the towed vehicle and a 2" shank for use on the motorhome. It has a high weight capacity so electric bikes won't be a problem and it has ramps built-in to help with loading. The unique frame clamps also help with odd frame shaped bikes and there are locks for both the bikes and rack.

In order to use bike rack with a tow bar you will also need a Roadmaster Dual Hitch Adapter like part # RM-077-4. I don't see any issues with weight as there is no tongue weight with a flat-tow setup.
