Question:

Do you have a type of ladder rack that would allow you to load dirtbikes. Rear horizontal bar would have to open and close. Would only put thule box or bicycles on top of rack.

I have a good solution for you and while it isn't nearly as attractive as the Thule part # TH500XTB the Buyers Products Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # 3371501150 will get the job done the easiest out of the options available.

Check out the video Hayden did on it below. As you will see the rear bar is very easily removable with just two snapper pins. If the center bar poses an issue you can see in the video it is just held in place with a single bolt on each side so it is very quick to remove. This also means it can be adjusted forward and rear to accommodate your box or bicycles.

If you were to remove the center bar for loading you could use the rack with just the rear crossbar in place to transport the bikes as long as you were not loading down the rack. If you were loading the rack I recommend reinstalling the center cross bar after loading the bikes to ensure you keep the integrity of the racks weight capacities. Happy riding!!!
