Good question. No the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2-1/2" part # DT45513 will not fit on your 1998 Dodge Ram 2500. You will instead want to use Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2-1/2" part # DT45505. This will be a direct bolt on application and will include all the hardware you need to complete the installation.

If you are okay with a 2" opening on the receiver tube instead of the 2.5" I would go with Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V XD - 2" part # C15319 instead. This one offers a much easier installation and higher weight ratings at
Gross trailer weight: 16,000 lbs
GTW when used with weight distribution: 17,000 lbs
Tongue weight: 2,400 lbs
TW when used with weight distribution: 2,400 lbs

rather than this with the Draw-Tite
Gross trailer weight: 12,000 lbs
