Question:

Hi I have a 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5’6” bed .I have a backflip installed now and have had it since truck was new so probably the original version. In your opinion will this rack work with the backflip?thank you

The Adarac ladder rack # A4001014 does fit between the bed rails. A place to start is to review the attached installation instructions which are detailed with pictures to see if you think your existing setup provides you the needed space to install.
