Backup Alarm that Could be Used on Mobility Scooter

So this HM60100VA would need to be wired to the scooter battery in order to have power to work?

The best solution we have for a proximity sensor that could be mounted on the back of a mobility scooter would be the Hopkins Backup Sensor System # HM60100VA which basically is a license plate bracket that has proximity sensors mounted on either side of it. This is normally used on vehicles but as long as you can wire it to the reverse circuit of the scooter it would work in same way.

My husband is concerned with th distance timing on this item. Can it be adjusted. He feels that the alarm would be going off consistently due to her moving about within her apartment.

If you adjust the sensors of the # HM60100VA down so that they face more of the ground you will decrease the range of the sensor so that it would take items being closer to it for it to make noise. Doing that and also lowering the sensor height will allow you to tailor the range as needed.

Yes, the # HM60100VA would need to draw power from the batteries of the mobility scooter to operate.
