The Rectangle LED Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, # STL34RB, needs a hole that is 3-3/4 inches by 5-3/8 inches. This light comes with the grommet and the 3 wire pigtail for installation. There is also a right angle pigtail available, # A47PB, if space is limited behind the mounting location for the light.
For a really clean looking installation you will want to radius the corners to match the corners of the grommet. I would draw a 3-3/4 x5-3/8 inch square on a piece of paper or cardboard and the measure 3 inches on the long sides and 2 inches on the short sides and draw a radius from these points to create the radius. This will allow you to cut out a template and mark the needed hole on the trailer skin or mounting bracket.
I produced a short video showing how I would make a template for you.
