Before you do anything you will want to consult the owners manual of your 2010 Dodge Nitro to determine what Dodge recommends as towing capacities for your vehicle.

I will say that all of the hitches we sell for your vehicle have a max capacity of 4,000 lbs which leads me to believe you would not be able to tow your 4,777 lb Rockwood trailer with your vehicle.

With that being said, if you determine that you can pull your trailer you will definitely want a weight distribution system since they are recommended anytime you tow a trailer that weighs more than 50% of the tow vehicle.

The most important thing to consider when picking out a weight distribution system is the tongue weight. I attached an FAQ on how to determine the tongue weight of a trailer. Once you know that you will want to pick a weight distribution system that encompasses the tongue weight of the trailer.

The Strait-Line Weight Distribution w Sway Control # RP66074 that you referenced is good for trailer with up to 1,200 lbs tongue and would be a good choice if you had a trailer with around 1,000 lbs tongue weight.

Most likely you will want a trailer with around 700-800 lbs tongue weight capacity like the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66083. I attached installation instructions for this product for you to check out also.
