I want a third brake light on my trailer to be off when running lights are on and only light up when I press the brake just like my car/truck. Does this converter do that or does it illuminate at lower intensity for running lights?

In order to separate the stop light circuit on your trailer for use with a third brake light you will need to use the Pacer Performance 3rd Brake Light Logic Module part # PP20-702, not the Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System with 4-Pole Connector part # TR118821. Then for a third brake light, I like the UltraThin ID Light Bar for Trailers part # MCL70RB but have attached other options for you as well.
