Towing Capacity and Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

Your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser has a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds and the 2016 Micro Minnie 2106FBS can weigh as much as 7,000 pounds when fully loaded so I can't recommend towing this with your vehicle. You will want to look for a camper that's a bit lighter and within the FJ Cruiser's limits.

When you do choose an appropriate trailer you will need to add a trailer hitch, wiring harness, and ball mount/hitch ball combo to the vehicle in order to tow it.

Starting with the hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Hitch # 75461 because it offers the easiest installation process (simple bolt-on to existing holes in the frame rails) and it features a hidden-crosstube design where only the 2 inch receiver is visible behind the vehicle (see attached image).

Then for a wiring harness the Tekonsha T-One # 118405 will work perfectly and install by simply plugging into factory ports behind trim panels in the rear cargo area and running the hot lead up to the battery. This will provide you with a 4-Way connector to power a trailer's basic signal lights.
