Installing RV Steps on 2015 Jayco x23B That Are Different Width

Question:
The space on my camper in which the steps fit is a touch over 26 inches. I assumed it would be a standard size. Seems none of the replacement stairs are this width. Any advice?

RV steps like the # 98224EXTALC1 can still install on RVs that have wider mounting brackets but you'll have to do one of three things. Weld the steps to the RV, find a way to move the brackets you have, or remove them and install new outriggers # LC301704. It's very common that the brackets don't match perfectly so what you are experiencing is pretty standard.
