Question:
For a 2107 GMC Acadia Limited AWD, what is the difference between installing a 4-way vs.7-way wiring harness as far as usage goes? When installing a wire harness, how do I decide which way to go? Also, where is the wire harness connector on the vehicle located?

Expert Reply:
Commonly 4-ways connectors are on smaller trailers that don't have brakes and 7-ways are on larger trailers that will have brakes. It really depends on the types of trailers you'd plan on towing. Or you can install 7-way kit confirmed as a fit for your 2017 GMC Acadia Limited part # 118271 and then use a 4-way adapter with it so that you could tow a smaller trailer as needed like with the # PK12716. This would be your best solution that would cover everything!
I attached an install video link for the 7-way for you to check out as well.
