Draw-Tite Ball Mount Part Number 4284 Dimensions

Question:
if there is only 4.88 inches between the platform and the pin hole how long is the platform. It is advertised as being 12 in. from pinhole to ball hole. that would make the platform at least 7 in. is this the case?

I am not sure where you are coming up with the 4.88 inches for the Draw-Tite Ball Mount, # 4284. We have a photo on the product page showing the dimensions of the ball mount, which shows the distance from the ball mount hole to the weld for the ball platform which is 6-3/4 inches.
I went out to the warehouse and measured the length of the ball mount platform and it measures 6-9/16 inches long overall and 3 inches wide.
If these measurements do not help, or you were looking at a different item, I will be glad to get measurements for you, just let me know.
