I have a 99 528i and want to install a hitch so I can pull a small trailer with riding mower. Which model will work?

I can help you find all the parts you need for your BMW, and the trailer hitch that fits a 1999 BMW 528i Sedan or 528i Wagon is the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11179. I've attached a link to the installation instructions so you can see exactly how it will install on your car.

Since you mentioned towing you will also need a wiring harness to power your trailer's lights and a ball mount with a hitch ball to attach your trailer.

Starting with the harness, the correct one for your '99 BMW 528i is the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236.

You will then need the Curt Class II Drawbar # C45510 along with Pin and Clip # F-4 to secure it to your hitch. Finally, you will need a hitch ball, the size of which will depend on your trailer's coupler, either the 1-7/8" Hitch Ball # C40001 or 2" Hitch Ball # A-82.
