Can you mount an awning directly to the RTC-Style Roof Rack Tracks with L brackets on one side?

I do have a solution for you, however awnings like the Rhino-Rack Batwing # RR33100 cannot mount directly to the RTC-Style Roof Rack Tracks # RRRTC8JWMY11. The issue is the awning will require a certain amount of vehicle overhang from its attachment point like what roof rack crossbars (as long as they aren't flush with the mounting feet) would provide. This allows for clearance between the awning and vehicle when in use.
I also don't recommend attaching an awning to the tracks using L-brackets as this may not provide a secure enough attachment.
To utilize an awning i recommend adding a roof rack system if you haven't already. To mount to the RTC-Style Tracks the RLTF Legs # RLTF along with Vortex Aero Crossbars like the 59" # RRVA150B-2 will work perfectly. You can then attach the above-mentioned Batwing to the crossbars via their integrated T-slots.
