I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500hd with 6 1/2 bed can the front of this cover be locked

Yes, you can lock the front panel on the TruXedo Deuce 2 Soft Tonneau Cover part # TX771101 which is a fit for your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with the 6-1/2' bed. There is a slide on the underside of the cover near the cab that will be used to lock and unlock the front panel. Please note however that if you do lock the front panel then you would need to roll the cover up to then release this lock.

I have attached a photo for you that shows how to lock the front panel for you as well.
