Question:

I have a 2019 Nissan Frontier and I am going to add a rear light strip using the Curt 56584 wiring harness. Question how do I unplug the factory 7 pin connector that appears to have a plastic protective cover over it and the main cable? Thanks for your help.

I took a look at the factory wiring on the 2019 Nissan Frontier and factory tow plug wiring is located along the driver's side frame rail behind the rear bumper. Since the connectors are square the Curt part # C56584 cannot connect to the factory wiring in the Frontier. The Curt harness is designed to plug in line with the 7-way on the vehicle but the factory 7-way on the Frontier is not 2 pieces so it does not come apart to accept the Curt harness.

I recommend Hopkins part # HM47570 7-way to 5-way adapter. This trailer connector adapter plugs into your factory 7-way and allows you to utilize your 7-way plug and the 5-way connector built into the plug to plug in the light strip. I have attached a video for your reference.
