Question:

I see that there is a note: except diesel. I know that Chevy reduces the towing capacity for the diesel, because of transmission cooling issues. However, I have a 500 pound carrier. Will this hithch FIT on my vehicle? And will the class 3 also FIT.

For a 2019 Chevy Equinox Diesel the trailer hitch you need is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 76217, which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver, 4,500 lb towing capacity and 675 lb tongue weight capacity. The hitch you referenced, part # 76419, is not a fit for a Diesel because it would interfere with the urea tank. The instructions are linked for you to check out so you can see how Trailer Hitch # 76217 will install in your Diesel Equinox.

To add trailer wiring to your '19 Equinox, if you do NOT have the factory tow package and your Equinox is NOT a Premier model you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118750; if you have the Premier model you will need Wiring Harness # 118759.

I also recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which is for 2” hitches and may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop – along with a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip.
