Recommended Trailer Tires for Highway Speeds with ST205/75R15 Size Tires
Published 03/22/2019 >
Question:
Im new to trailers and tires. of my own The trailer I am thinking on buying has ST rating tires and I am told that is a 65MPH max tire. The single axle will be a 3500lbs. I will travel up to 85 mph with it at no more than 6000 lbs capacity. The tires that it comes with are ST205 75/r15 c. What kind of tire ratings should I be looking for? That all said, I am ok with being told not to travel at that speed and or I should upgrade to something other than I mentioned. Oh, the trailer is a utility type. Thanks

The Taskmaster Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # TR20515D will be great replacement tires for you and are rated for speeds up to 81 mph.
The speed won't be an issue other than local laws, but the 6,000 lbs load will be way over the weight your trailer will be able to handle. Trailers are rated based on the lowest capacity of the weakest component. Without knowing what else is on the trailer, with the 3,500 lbs single axle you would be way over your capacity.
