What is the Advantage to Using a Halogen Spotlight with 2 Bulbs

Question:
What is the advantage of having two 55 watt bulbs over just one with a clear lense, other then light output. Will it make more of a flood pattern versus one bulb?

Two bulbs will give a brighter and wider beam than a single bulb would on the Double Halogen Spotlight # S742.
