How Far Back From Coupler Hole Should Friction Sway Control Bracket Attach on Trailer Frame

Question:
The rv dealership mounted my sway control ball mount on the trailer frame at 22inch vice 24inch can I redrill holes on the same side of frame?

You do need to move the mounting plate of the friction sway control unit you have back to 24 inches otherwise you may damage the unit around a tight right corner. 2 inches is far enough away to not cause any structural issues. I'd probably still complain to the RV dealer though!
