Can Rear View Safety Backup Camera System be Connected to OEM Monitor on 2012 Dodge Ram 3500

Question:
I have a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500. My stock tailgate has the backup camera in it that displays on the stock dash/display. I am looking at replacing tailgate with the Steinberg Carlson 4000 tailgate. Can this camera be wired to existing backup camera wiring to use the stock/dash display instead of the screen that it comes with? If not can you recommend an after market camera that CAN be used with existing stock camera wiring? Thank you!

The only camera that we have for your 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 that connects to your factory system and wiring is the Stromberg Carlson # SC97VR system.
Anything else will require you to use an aftermarket monitor or get creative with splicing wires together. I would be a bit nervous about cutting and splicing OEM wiring though when it comes to factory camera wiring.
Since the camera system mentioned above is for your truck bed the kit # RVS-5350 that you referenced from Rear View Safety is a great option. This installed on your license plate so that you get full use of both the camera and the included sensors.
If you would rather go a different route just let me know and I can make an additional recommendation for you.
