Question:
Need a hitch for carrying a bike rack with my 2018 BMW X1. The Curt option looks a lot easier to install but I looked at the instructions and it says 18050 stabilizing strap needs to be used for all non-trailer loads. Is the Draw-Tite hitch worth the extra effort for the installation?

I do recommend installing the etrailer trailer hitch # e93KR over the Curt # C13303 whether you plan on using your 2018 BMW X1 or even if you decide to tow a small trailer down the road.
Since the etrailer trailer hitch doesn't require the use of the stabilizer strap # 18050 for non-trailer loads (like the Curt does) it will mean that you have one less step to take when you are loading your bikes.
If you plan to tow, you would need the wireing Tekonsha # 119250KIT and the bracket # 18144.
If you don't already have a bike rack to use with your BMW X1 then I recommend using the Kuat Sherpa. This comes in Black # SH22B, Pearl # SH22P, and Gray # SH22G, it weighs a mere 32 lbs, and it secures your bikes by the wheels so there is no frame contact.
