Question:

I have a 2006 silverado 4x4 1500 rear axle ratio 410. I have been pulling around my travell trailer for 10 yrs it is 6100lbs hitch is 600lbs tongue weight. All good. Now I may be buying a 2012 Springdale travel trailer with 7600lbs tongue weight 750lbs. My present hitch says 10000 lbs trailer weight tongue 1000lbs with weight distribition without 6000llbs and 600lbs for tongue, Will this truck be ok to pull the new trailer

Unfortunately I don't have enough info on your 2006 Chevy 1500 4x4 to give you the definite answer. I would need to know if you have the standard wheel base and what motor you have.

The good news is you can easily determine your specific towing capacity. You simply need to looki at the tag inside your driver's door jamb. Then you will need take your Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) and subtract that by the the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of your truck from the (GCWR) that will give you the maximum Gross Trailer Weight (GTW).

Regarding the hitch, you will need to use a weight distribution system if your truck has the towing capacity needed for that trailer. If you don't have a weight distribution system, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET which is an excellent fit for that trailer. You will then simply need the socket # ALL643216 to install the hitch ball in the system. I've attached a video to assist with the other functions.
