Question:

Hi. I have a 2016 Hyundai Sonata HYBRID. Im looking for a trailer hitch for which to attach a bike carrier. The 2016 HYBRID Sonata underwent changes and it is different from prior Hybrids and is also different from gas engine Sonatas. Can you please let me know if there is a tow hitch that will work for the 2016 Sonata Hybrid? A video of installation would be helpful also for this sp3cific 2016 Hybrid model. Many thanks.

For a trailer hitch that is confirmed as a fit for your 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid we have the Draw Tite hitch part # 24965 which is a confirmed fit. I attached an install video that shows what the process for the install will entail which will be the exact same basically for your hybrid model. We haven't had a chance to install this hitch on a Hybrid version of your vehicle yet.

The reason I recommended this hitch over the Curt # C11402 is because the Curt requires a stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack.

For a bike rack I really like the Saris Freedom Superclamp part # SA4025F. This is a lightweight platform rack (which is normally an unheard of combo). That means it'll be easy to install and remove from your vehicle since it's light, but also it'll be very easy to load bikes on since it's a platform rack.

This rack also only touches bikes at the tire so it protects any damage to delicate frame materials or finishes.
