Question:
Looking for correct trailer light 4 wire flat to fit a 2016 Ford Explorer. For simple trailer light hookup Car has a 12 pin female connector on the under right side, but is not plugged into anything. Just open connector hanging there. Will the recommended T Connector fit by plugging in the male plug and leaving the female plug of the T connector disconnected? Best recommendation?

Expert Reply:
I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118540 for your 2016 Ford Explorer because of the reliability of the Tekonsha wiring products.
You are correct that tit is just a plug-in operation although both ends of the connector must be plugged in at the point you mentioned.
I have linked installation videos of both the Tekonsha I recommended as well as the Curt # C56172 being installed on a 2016 Ford Explorer so you can see for yourself the exact process required.
