Procedure for Removing Fifth Wheel Hitch from Bed Rails

Would like to remove hitch from rails to make more hauling room. How do I remove the hitch?

Removal of your Fifth Wheel hitch # RP30047 from the bed rails is very simple. Where the legs of the hitch attach to the bed rails, each of the four legs is secured by a retaining pin. The pin is secured by a clip that can be slid off of the pin.

Remove the clip from all four pins, slide out the retaining pins, and pull straight up on the hitch. I would recommend having a helper assist with removing the hitch, which can weigh more than 100 lbs.
To replace the hitch, simply reverse the procedure making sure that the hitch is centered side to side on the bed rails, and that the retaining pins and clips are securely in place.
