How to Pick Out Weigh Safe Adjustable Ball Mount for 2-1/2 inch Hitch for Ground Clearance
Question:
Hi, I bought a C15810 from you a Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2-1/2 and had it installed on my 2006 Ford F-350 DRW crew cab. I am very happy with it. I am considering buying a WS10-25 from you a Weigh Safe 2-Ball Mount w/ Built-In Scale - 2-1/2inch Hitch - 10inch , 11inch Rise - 18.5K. I like the idea of a scale in the ball mount, and I believe that a 10inch might be a good idea. Does a WS10-25 sound like a good idea to you? In particular, is there any likelihood that the will be too much that the bottom of the mount will ever drag or hit a curb, especially if I am off-road or carrying a heavy load? The suspension in the truck is stock. Thank you.

When we installed the Curt hitch # C15810 on a similar 2007 Ford F-250 to your 2006 Ford F-350 we found that from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground measured 20 inches. The Weigh Safe Ball Mount part # WS10-25 is a great ball mount but it would hang down 13 inches from the top of your hitch opening putting it about 7 inches off the ground.
A better option for ground clearance would be the same ball mount but with less drop part # WS6-25 as this would sit 4 inch taller. Or the part # WS4-25 which will have 6 inches more ground clearance than the # WS10-25. But it really depends on how tall your trailers are too. I attached a help article that covers how to pick out the correct rise/drop ball mount as well.
