Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Install on 2010 Chrysler Town and Country that Doesn't Work

Question:
My issue is power. I could not find a good ground so I temporary ran a ground to the negative terminal on the battery. Now I get power with my test light at hethe back of teh drivers side lite, but nothing with I try to test the trailer connector

Sounds like the ground wire is your issue. But first did you check to make sure there's a good fuse in the fuse holder of the # 118552? It's pretty easy to forget that.
But for the ground strap you need to have it connected to a metal surface that comes into contact with the vehicle frame in order for it to ground properly. I am not exactly sure where you have it now but it sounds like it's not attached to a metal surface.
