Question:

Getting ready to order a set of the 10100713 Rockstar mud flaps to go on a 2018 F450. Plan to order the Access part #A810089 so it will mount to a 2 1/2inch ball mount. Finally I want to purchase an aluminum 2 1/2inch adjustable ball mount, preferably with ~8inch . I was looking at the Weigh Safe Ball Mount LTB8-25 but concerned if there will be enough exposed shank 3inch minimum mount the mud flaps. Id like to go 2 1/2inch on the ball mount for the increased capacity but none of them seem to have a very long shank based on the pictures. Thanks for any input.

The best option we have for you is the Flash E Series HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount part # FA42-00-2825. This ball mount is made of aluminium which means it only weighs around 17 lbs. It has adjustments for 8" drop to 8" rise and it comes with both a 2" and 2-5/16" hitch ball. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the support gusset on this ball mount is 3". Therefore, you would need to measure from the outer end of your trailer hitch and subtract that from the above 3" measurement in order to determine if the Access Rockstar 3XL Custom Mud Flaps part # A10100713 will work with this ball mount.

Unfortunately, the 180 Hitch 2-Ball Mount w/ Stainless Balls part # LTB8-25 will not work with a set of hitch mounted mud flaps due to the limited shank clearance beyond the hitch pin hole.
