Installation of Hopkins License Plate Mounted Backup Camera or Sensor System

Question:

I would like to ask how to drill a hole or do I need to do that to snake the wire for the backup camera of my 2006 Passat. Thanks.

The Hopkins Backup Sensor System - Audible Alert # HM60100VA or the Smart Hitch camera with sensors # HM60195VA uses a wire that can be run either under the bumper or through it. I recommend drilling a hole just big enough for the connector on the wire through the bumper so you can have a clean look. You will then run the wire through a rubber grommet seal to access your wiring or along a trim panel to get to the wiring location without pinching or crimping the wires.
