Question:

I have a 2015 F350 Dually and the previous owner installed the factory crossmember for a gooseneck setup. They did not install the pieces that stick up from the crossmember through the bed that the fifth wheel pucks would lock into. It has the gooseneck hole drilled out and that is usable but I want to add the fifth wheel pucks without spending tons of money on a new Reese system. What parts do I need to simply add the fifth wheel capability to the gooseneck crossmember. Obviously I will need to drill out the holes but is what I am asking possible otherwise? Thanks in advance

Gooseneck and fifth wheel hitches are for the most part separate hitches. The exception is the factory system available on trucks as an option, but this is directly from the factory and not an aftermarket product. There is the Reese Elite that you mentioned, part # RP30126, that's an aftermarket puck system very similar to the factory system. It even has a goosneck head, part # RP30138, that can be added to have both hitches. But there aren't any universal puck systems that can be added to an existing fifth wheel hitch that I know of.

A more cost effective option is to usean adapter like the Demco # DM6140 in your gooseneck hitch to give you industry standad fith wheel rails. Then you can use any hitch that fits. This Demco fits the B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch. In order to find the correct adapter you need to determine the brand of hitch that's been installed in your truck so they work together.

Another option is to remove the current gooseneck hitch altogether and install a fifth wheel bracket kit with industry standard rails like part # RP56016-53.
