The Rola Swinging Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Trailer Hitch # 59109 has a measurement of 8-1/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the pivot point upright bar. The Rola will completely swing away from the vehicle and give you full access.

For another option that would also allow you to bring your bike rack, you may want to consider a cargo bag like the Rightline Gear Sport 2 Rooftop Cargo Bag - Waterproof - 15 cu ft - 44" x 36" x 19" # RL100S20 and place your cargo on your roof, which would allow you to also bring your hitch bike rack.

The weight capacity on this states 165 lbs and the weight of the box says 50 lbs. I have a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Limited. The car manual says not to exceed 150 lbs on the roof rack. Am I missing something? I see all of these other cars pictured with the Thule motion XXL that are the same size or smaller than my vehicle. I like this and would like to order one but am wondering if this is not the right box for my vehicle. Thank you.

Roof boxes are rated for their capacity and not for the vehicle roof capacity as they fit on multiple vehicles. The Thule Motion XT # TH629906 is the largest of the Thule roof box line with a 22 cubic foot capacity. This is the only Thule Motion cargo box considered XXL. It does have a capacity of 165 lbs and a box weight of 55 lbs. The next size down is the Motion XT # TH629806 which has a 18 cubic foot capacity. It has the same capacity rating but weighs 46 lbs. The model that Thule confirms as a fit for your vehicle's factory roof rack is the 16 cubic foot # TH629706. This weighs 42 lbs and has the 165 lb capacity rating. I've attached a diagram that shows how to measure your roof rack for best fit to ensure you have the hatch cargo door clearance. The weight capacity of any of these boxes will be restricted by your manufacturer's specifications. Since your manual restricts the roof capacity to 150 lbs, you will subtract the weight of the carrier, and then you will know the cargo weight you can safely add for travel.
