How to Remove Broken 1156 Light Bulb

The Sylvania 1156 bulb inside your tail light should have two small tabs at the bottom of the bulb that you will need to first align with the grooves in the light socket. Once the tabs are aligned, you should be able to just push it in, twist it a bit, and the bulb will come out. If the glass is broken, I recommend using the traditional potato method. Cut a potato in half, firmly press it against the socket and begin twisting it in this manner.
