Recommended 5-Way Connector for 2012 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
Do you have a 7 way to 5 way connector similar to 30955? My truck is a 2012 GMC 2500 HD and it has only the 7 way socket. One of my boats has a 5 way flat plug and I would like to eliminate the adapter.

We do have a trailer connector similar to the Hopkins # 30955, but with a 5-Way connection as well, with the Hopkins Endurance # HM48470. This particular connector features 7-Way, 5-Way, and 4-Way plugs. This issue is that this would need to be hardwired to the wiring on your truck, as there is not a custom-fit, plug-in model available.
A better option for your 2012 GMC Sierra will be to use the Curt 5-Pole T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56584 if you have the factory 7-Way. This will actually install in-line with the 7-Way on your truck, meaning when it is installed, you will still retain the 7-Way functionality. No splicing is required and this will give you both a permanent 5-Way and 7-Way connector at the rear of your Sierra.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this harness, along with the written instructions that you can also look through.
