Troubleshooting Stop/Turn Circuits Not Working After Tekonsha Harness # 118540 Install
Updated 05/30/2018 | Published 05/27/2018 >
Question:
I have a 2015 Ford Explorer Limited I purchased the 118540 cable part I connected the t-connector to the factory connector at the rear passenger side. The only lights that work is when I turn on my head lights then the trailer lights come on. No turn sigs, brake or emergency lights work. I probed the 4 wire connector at the end and only had power on the brown wire with the headlights on.. no power from the yellow or green when turn sig/brake or emergency flashers was turned on.. I moved my probe to the factory connector and probed the yellow and green wireNO power with engine running and turn sigs on. I then unplugged the factory connector from the main factory connector and all lights still worked. To me this means that this connector does not control the brake/emergency/or turn signals. I checked for a second connector but did not find one....sent picture Please advise...

The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118540 with it's single connector should be tapping into the vehicle stop/turn signals. If yours isn't active but the vehicle signals are working I'd first try unplugging and plugging the connectors in to see if there's maybe just a connection issue that needs to be cleared out.
Next I would check under the hood for any trailer wiring related fuses/relays and replace as needed.
