Reverse Lights Flash when Left Turn Signal is On Using Hopkins Tow Bar Wiring on 2015 Jeep Wrangler

Question:
Sir/Ma’am I purchased the HM56200 for my 2015 Jeep Wangler Unlimited for flat towing. I connected the product and noticed that the back up lights flashing the sametime the drivers side blinker is in operation. This does not happen when the passenger side blinker is operating. Has this issue ever happened before. Thank you for your time.

This is the first time I have heard of this issue with any Hopkins tow bar wiring harness such as # HM56200 on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Since this harness plugs in line with the tail light wiring there isn't a way that it could have been connected in the wrong spot. It is possible though that there is a bent pin or maybe corrosion that is causing a short to jump to the reverse light on that one side. That is the first thing I would check.
Another thing that might cause the harness to misbehave is if you already have an aftermarket trailer wiring harness installed. If so and you have both harnesses plugged in try switching the order they are plugged in.
I really do think it is a short somewhere though. The hard part is tracking it down. Be sure to also check for any pinched or damaged wiring, most likely vehicle wiring, and fix as needed.
