Is the Same Hitch Bolt Used on the DoubleDown Bike Rack in Both a 1-1/4 Inch and 2 Inch Hitch
Question:
i have the yakima double down bike rack and i do not need the adaptor cause i have a 1.25inch hitch, is it right that i would use the same bolt as the 2inch hitch, it seems too long and like where i put the cotter pin in is way away from the hitch , like obviously there would not be that much with the 2inch bolt since it is wider.

You would use the same hitch bolt with the DoubleDown bike rack whether you are using it in a 2 inch hitch or a 1-1/4 inch hitch. The clip that goes on the end of the pin is a fail safe. So in the unlikely event that the bolt unthreads itself it cannot fall out because of the clip. That is the clip's only purpose so it really doesn't matter how far it is from the receiver so long as you have it on there.
