The Tekonsha Wiring Harness with Install Kit # 119250KIT that you referenced will give you a 4-Way Flat connector on your 2008 BMW X3 which carries the basic trailer light functions. As long as the trailer you are planning to tow has a 4-Way connector you don't need anything else.
The limited lifetime warranty on both the Curt # 13573 and the Draw-Tite # 75371 means that they are covered under warranty for life for any manufacturing defects. Naturally it is up to the manufacturer to determine what the term defect applies to. This is a standard warranty for trailer hitches.
You also need a ball mount, hitch ball, and pin and clip to complete your towing setup. One of the most popular options that we have is the Curt # C45036 which has a 2" drop, comes with a 2" hitch ball, and the pin and clip. You will want to check out the linked helpful article on ball mounts to make sure that it is correct for your towing application.
I also linked some installation videos on BMW X3 models and written details for you to reference.
