In order to mount a fifth wheel hitch to the factory rail system on your 2016 Nissan Titan XD, you will first need to obtain the factory adapter directly from Nissan. This will mount to the pucks in your truck bed to provide industry standard rails that will work with most fifth wheel hitches.
Once you have the adapter in place, I recommend the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider # C16541 for your truck. This is a really nice hitch that will provide 12 inches of sliding travel to provide the necessary cab clearance when turning with your short bed Nissan Titan. It features an interlocking 2-jaw system that will provide excellent connection with the trailer and a fully articulating torsion head that will ease hookup, even when on unlevel ground. It has a gross towing capacity of 20,000 pounds and will work well with the Nissan adapter rails.

Titan XD comes factory built with 3 port ball mount/ safety connection in the truck bed. Pyramid riser assembly attaches directly to Nissan 2 5/16 ball, then to goose neck with offset. I pull a 28 foot coachmen 5th wheel with no problems, lots of clearance.
