Your 2017 GMC Canyon 4WD will not tow a 5th wheel trailer properly. Unfortunately the payload and towing capacity of your light duty truck will not allow for a 5th wheel trailer according to the manufacturer, so I can't recommend installing a 5th wheel hitch like the Curt A20 Slider # C16541 even though the universal rails like # C16100 might fit. We do not have a confirmed fit for the rails because they haven't been tested on your application due to the towing capacity of 7,000 lbs when the trailering package from the factory is present.
I recommend going with a travel trailer instead. Let me know if you have further questions.
